[Request] Seperate Game Viewport

I would like to see a separate viewport that shows only game mode. For Example: When a camera actor is selected it shows a preview of what the camera sees at the bottom-right corner of the viewport. Just like this if we could make a viewport (by selecting a option in the toolbar) that shows the game mode at the bottom-right corner it would be nice. So when we navigate the main viewport using the mouse the bottom-right corner will show the game mode of what we see. This way we dont have to constantly switch between Game Mode (G) and editor and will also help when we have to move screen captures, lights etc.

Hi Satheesh,

Thank you for your request. I have created a feedback report for a “Viewport-in-viewport” that references this post for details.

You can also create additional viewports from the Window > Viewports menu where you can create a viewport that is set to Game mode. Add a Camera Actor into the scene, then click the dropdown arrow next to “Perspective” in either viewport. Go to Actor Locking and click the Selected Actor > CameraActor1(Or what you named it). Do this for the other viewport, so that they are both locked. You can now make one your “Game View” and the other “Editor View”. When one viewport moves, the other will too. It is not exactly what you are asking for, but it should be a functional work-around.

If there is anything else that you would like to see in the editor, please let us know.

Thank you,

Alexander

Thats a very nice workaround. Thank you very much Alex!
