Dear Friends at Epic,
I have frequently lost project progress from closing Rocket via the task bar, using windows 7.
When I close editor from main window it prompts to save,
but when right clicking on task bar icon and closing, there is no prompt and rocket just speedily exits.
Could you make it so the taskbar exit also causes the prompt, like in 3ds max ?

Strange - I tried this specifically last night to see if it would (right click taskbar icon → close), and did get the prompt to save.
What version are you running?
I am using Beta5, I’ve been known to have weird issues with my windows settings, I keep deleting the ini files but the issues somehow recreate themselves, but I’m sure it’s nice for the Devs to know that this is not a universal issue!

I believe this only happens when you have a log window open with the editor. If the log window is closed it also closes Rocket. Which can be useful if your just testing or debugging as its slightly faster exiting.

I have received an update on the issue that unfortunately it cannot be fixed.
I’ve spent quite some time trying to fix this issue, but it is sadly built in behaviour on windows that closing the system console of an application will shutdown the process with virtually no notification. This is something native to windows that lies beyond our control. Unfortunately, having discussed various potential solutions, this isn’t something that we are going to be able to fix.
