[Request] Please regulate and ask for disclosure for AI generated posts/answers

I’m not saying ban the usage of LLMs, or LLM answers (though i rather not have to deal with them).

But please at least ask for disclosure when an answer has been generated by an LLM.

It’s the most basic level of respect and accountability.

Reasons:

  • The llms has a disclaimer where it says they hallucinate and provide wrong info. People post it, making it sound it’s their own answer, and hide that disclaimer to users. This is a legal requirement for these companies. It should not be hidden.
  • LLMs constantly hallucinate wrong information about UE. i have had to correct many posts.
  • Otherwise they send people into unnecessary basic random actions like “Try to restart your computer, reinstall the drivers, etc”. Which could be very risky, as someone without experience could break their environment doing that. It’s also a waste of time and a disrespect for others’ time.
  • If this is targeted to be a community, i’d expect to be able to interact with humans and not machines. if i wanted to consult an llm i can do it myself. Not disclosing that the source is an LLM it’s worse than telling someone “just google it”, the latter actually can provide good results.
  • It’s really depersonalizing, it drives disconnection.
  • Stack overflow has banned LLM answers.
  • Unreal engine github has banned LLM code.
  • The Linux kernel doesn’t allow LLM code.
  • Assets on Fab requires disclosing of AI usage.
  • Youtube videos requires disclosing of AI usage.
    • And surely other social networks.
  • Itch.io strictly requires and enforces disclosure of AI usage. Content creator quality guidelines - itch.io
  • a lot of people in this forum is fighting to get generated ai content banned from fab.

i’m not saying nobody should use them, but i’m saying some people have reasons not to use it. so my request is something actually common.
