When deleting assets from the Content Browser it would be nice if there was an option to ONLY delete assets that are NOT being referenced (and skip the rest).
At the moment the only options are [Replace References][Force Delete] and
[Cancel].
If there are e.g. 5 of 20 items that are flagged as being ‘referenced’ you must [Cancel] and go through a process of finding/checking each of them to be sure. The process can be quite time consuming.
The problem is, if you have added an asset to a scene in the past, then delete the actor from the scene, then attempt to delete the asset from the content browser it still says “References in use”. So, when you are attempting to clean up a project by deleting old folders, textures, meshes, etc, you can never be sure whether a reference ‘is in use’ or ‘was in use’. You have to then check the reference viewer for each ‘in use’ prompt’ to be sure , which can take some time on a large project.
Alternatively, the ability to double-click on the ‘is referenced in memory’ message and jump to the asset in the content browser so you can quickly view it and better determine whether you really want to delete it.
