[Request] New Landscape Tools

Here is an couple of tools I had chance using in diffrent engines for scultping terrain and found the somewhat useful:

  1. Height Drag Brush. This brush allow you to drag terrain that is selcted under brush up and down. On it’s own it’s quite useless, but with alpha maps, it can be used to quickly “drag” mountains, cliffs, and other terrain features that can be generated using external software like World Machine. It can be used to quickly add detailed terrain features on the places WE WANT, not on places where generator think they fit.
  2. Ramp Brush. It create straight ramp between two selected point. It could be extended by spline ramp brush. Which works the same expect it can be curved and terrain is ramped along curve.
  3. Push & Pull - It push terrain in (down) based on radius and pull up based on brush offset (alternate mode works in reverse)
  4. Level Brush. Works similiar to smooth broosh, but instead of smoothing to average height, it try to smooth from highest to lowest point under brush. It can be useful, for creating ramps (instead of ramp tool, or where more complex ramp is needed).

Ramp Brush. It create straight ramp between two selected point. It could be extended by spline ramp brush. Which works the same expect it can be curved and terrain is ramped along curve.

You can achieve this with Landscape splines. Place 2 points, pull one up, make sure raise and lower terrain are enabled and leave the spline mesh section empty.

Hi Lukasz,

Thank you for your requests. Oddly enough, we have so much great feedback from our users, most of what is in your list is already in our database. We currently have a request for a “push and pull” and “height drag brush” equivalent; Grab Tool. Like Mehmet said, landscape splines will let you click two points and create a fast ramp very easily. The Level brush is a great new idea though, so I created a report for it. If there is anything else that you would like to see in the editor, please let us know.

Thank you,

Alexander
