I don’t like to heat up my PC when I’m just changing blueprint nodes or some default values. Turning off “Realtime” in 3D views while editing is my new habit. Every time I turn it off in Level view, components view or any other editor’s 3D view I can see that CPU/GPU usage drops and that’s how I like it to be - low and quiet.
But it bugs me that my choice is not remembered even when working with the same project. It’s always setting itself to ON even when I change it OFF in one blueprint components view, close and re-open the same blueprint.
Am I missing something? Is there some magical switch in the settings that I didn’t notice or is it just the way it is: “Realtime view is always ON”?
You know what, I agree 100% with you. It bugs me every day, and it actually bothered me again this morning when I remote desktop’ed into the office. I will see that we can get this done for 4.2, thanks!
I fixed this in CL# 2066186. This was actually a bug from when we refactored the global viewport settings into per-viewport settings. The viewport settings will now be remembered, and they will be stored per viewport, so you can mix and match as you see fit.
So for example if I change realtime to off in one blueprint’s components viewport, will this setting be remembered only for this one blueprint or for every blueprint components viewport in every blueprint I already have created?
Oh, I don’t know about the Blueprint windows. They may have their own settings. I will probably do some work on Blueprint settings today, so I can take a look at that as well. My change from yesterday was for the Level Editor viewports.
