[REQUEST] Guide on creating landscape materials AND removing tiling

I have looked at every guide I can find even on Youtube but I can’t find a good one to explain how to remove tiling from a landscape. Most of the guides I have found are outdated or the creator has a strong accent or they only cover certain aspects leaving me to guess what at what I’m supposed to do. I have figured out how to add different textures and normals and blend them in the landscape, but I can’t figure out the sizes/remove the tiling effects, even after attempting to do so on just one texture following a guide step by step it still did not work. I’ve tried the texture bombing feature I found in a tutorial and while it did change the texture up a bit, the tiling effect is still there. Most of the guides only cover adding a texture and normal and that’s it, they don’t get into roughness, tesselation, metallic, specularity, copying a material with its nodes into a landscape material or how to remove tiling. A lot of materials I want to copy over into a landscape material use bump offset and other nodes that are not covered by any of these tutorials, leaving me to guess at how to set them up. I’ve even tried using some landscape materials I have that are already set up, and replacing them with my own textures etc, and the textures are still showing up way to large/tiled etc.

Hello Pine,

You can’t actually “remove” tilling…
The answer for your problem is here: Landscape Materials | Unreal Engine Documentation, you are looking for “Landscape Coords” node. Study that, and the grass material from Starter Pack, look at “macro-variation” comment inside the material.
Good luck!
PS: I hate it when people have been “looking all over the internet” but didn’t see their problem answered in Ue4 documentation. I believe this is the main reason most don’t answer questions here.
