[Request]Complex Landscape Material Tutorial

Good evening everybody,

I have following problem… I studied the Landscape Materials of the “Snow Landscape Environment(4.4)” Content and also the “Vehicle Game(4.2)” Content, but I still can’t get into it. I tried to understand the Nodes which are connected to each other and tried to understand the function of all of them, but in my opinion the Materials are actually very complex and hard to understand(for me at least) but the results looking just gorgeous. So I have a question if anyone is able to create a tutorial or a fully understandable Content/Documentation of a complex landscape material. But maybe with a little bit more cleaned up version, because in the snow landscape there are a lot of material functions with such a huge amount of connected Nodes that it is very hard to understand it like I already said.

I would love to create myself a material which has kinda like the effect, that you can paint snow on a rock texture but having a very nice transition between the both textures, so that they look pretty realistic not like a very simple snow, rock landscape material, where you easily paint over the other texture.

I hope everyone is able to understand my situation and was able to read my text above.

best regards!

A good way to learn all the nodes is to take a look at this documentation site: https://docs.unrealengine/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/Materials/ExpressionReference/index.html
