I believe that Unreal Engine could greatly benefit from incorporating AI technology into its engine. There are countless people with a passion for game development but lack the technical knowledge of Unreal Engine’s blueprints and code. However, with the help of ChatGPT, these individuals could create and bring their visions to life.
I am aware that ChatGPT can already provide assistance in some aspects of blueprint creation. However, I envision Unreal Engine implementing an AI system that allows users to input prompts, such as “I want a 40x40 map where players can drive cars and shoot out of them, use ropes to move between buildings, or skydive from a plane.” Moreover, the system could generate landscape elements such as grass, and also suggest building ideas, or help users to improve upon their existing projects.
I would like to see this feature integrated into Unreal Engine, as I strongly believe that this technology represents the future of game development. It would empower users to bring their creative visions to life, and in turn, enable us to share in their successes.
Personally, I have experimented with UE, creating large landscapes with houses, hills, and bodies of water, as well as vehicles, though the wheels did not turn. Although I was merely experimenting, I see the tremendous potential for those who lack technical knowledge in game development to utilize the benefits of this new AI methodology.
