[Request] Allow Weapon Props (Axes, Swords, Shields, etc.) as Static Meshes for Scene Graph Projects

Hello Epic Team,

I’d like to request access to existing Fortnite weapon-related props, such as swords, axes, shields, hammers, spears, and other melee weapon models, as usable static meshes within UEFN.

With the introduction of Scene Graph and the growing ability to create custom gameplay systems, many creators are building their own custom weapons and combat mechanics. Currently, if we want to use a weapon model for a custom item, we often have to import our own meshes and textures. This consumes valuable project storage and contributes to the island download size.

Having access to Fortnite’s existing weapon prop models as static meshes would provide several benefits:

  • Reduce project size and memory usage.

  • Help creators stay within the 400 MB download limit.

  • Improve visual consistency with Fortnite’s art style.

  • Allow creators to build custom weapons using Scene Graph without duplicating assets that already exist in the game.

  • Speed up development by eliminating the need to recreate weapon models externally.

This request is specifically for cosmetic/static mesh access to existing weapon props, not necessarily access to their gameplay functionality. Being able to attach these meshes to custom Scene Graph entities would open up many possibilities for RPGs, adventure maps, custom combat systems, and other creator-made experiences.

As Scene Graph becomes more powerful, access to a broader library of Fortnite props—including weapon models—would greatly benefit creators while reducing unnecessary asset duplication and download size.

Thank you for considering this feature request.

actually turns out we cant even use our own custom assets for weapons. As the mesh component in scene graph wont let you switch out the static mesh…sad. Apparently there is a work around with Niagara… but why? GIVE US A STATIC MESH COMPONENT that we can add our own meshes. I dont want to make a gun game or have to use a hammer that flips me 100 feet into the air..
