Replacing the mannequin mesh with another humanoid mesh while retaining mannequin skeleton- possible?

I’ve been watching a few youtube tutorials for getting a mixamo character 3d mesh working with the 3rd person template blueprint. But it doesn’t seem possible to just replace the mannequin static mesh with an imported mesh in the blueprint, all mixamo based tutorials seem to involve another skeleton. Is there a way to do what I’m looking to do?

I tried importing the .fbx into the Characters folder but the imported mesh won’t show up in the Static Mesh dropdown.
