Replace Picture

Hello everyone,

I take picture of a model and I try to recreate the 3D. But when I work on reality capture, the software fix around 10pictures. So how can I put manualy the location (X;Y;Z) of my differents cameras to fix it all?

Many thanks in advance,

Best,

Grégoire

Hi Grégoire,

Please can you describe your workflow in more detail. I don’t see any camera rig there. Is this a turntable? There are a number of different ways to get more cameras aligned, but I would need to know more details about the project. How many photos did you take, how big was each rotation?

Hello Wallace,

Thx for your fast reply.

We shoot on a turntable with a white background.

We have 96 pictures : 16 in each “circle” (one photo every 22,5°) x 6 différents height.

We took the picture with a canon 6D in 5760 x 3840px.

do you want more infos ?

Hi Grégoire,

Scanning humans is a very tricky process at the best of times, this is why it is mostly done with a rig that takes all of the photos simultaneously. RC is capable of scanning models to an accuracy of less than a mm. So your biggest problem here is movement, even if the subject has the most amazing sense of balance, they will have to make micro adjustments to stay upright as the turntable moves, this means movements of cms. You might be better off scrapping the idea of a turntable and just trying to get your capture as fast as possible whilst the subject stays as still as possible. Then if you stll have several components, first try to merge the components, and then try to add some control points in the parts where you want to rivet the model together.
