Hi,
We regularly receive crash reports from users in which the error line of the CrashContext file reads the following:
<ErrorMessage>LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\Build\++UE4+Release-4.18+Compile\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 1015] GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 30.00 secs</ErrorMessage>
Looking over the crash context files, the following GPU’s are reporting this:
- Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
- Intel(R) HD Graphics
- AMD Radeon HD 7520G
- Intel(R) HD Graphics 530
- Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
The common denominator appears to be that it affects on-board graphics chips. If it interests you, I’ve got one stack trace from a dmp file that I can share:
I realise that these users are technically running the game on unsupported hardware (I believe at least?) but if there’s a bug here that can be patched up, I know they’d appreciate it.
Oh - one last “clue”: We’ve had two users (hardly any though) suggest that they were able to overcome the crash by running the game in a lower resolution. To me it sounds like the issue could be outside the UE4 engine (driver/hardware side), but I’m no expert on that matter.
Thanks and good luck,
