Hello!
I am having trouble with accessing the multi passes in a EXR in After Effects. I have searched the forums here and google in general and I can’t find anyone with the same issue.
Basically I have been following various tutorials on how to render out multi pass EXRs out of the Movie Render Queue. In the tutorials, the users then import the EXR sequences into After Effects and use the EXtractoR plug to access the different passes.
However when I do this, the drop down menu in the EXtractoR plugin won’t give me passes to select.
To double check it wasn’t an After Effects bug, I rendered a fresh EXR sequence out of another program with multi passes and EXtractoR worked fine. So I guess the question is, is there any trick to making EXR multi-layer files ready for After Effects?
For reference I am working on an Apple MacBook Pro with M1, Unreal Engine 5.1, and I have tested it out on AE 2022, 2023 and even through Rosetta versions of these.
Thanks in advance for any help you can fire my way, cheers
J
