Hey Epic games, as you know, an important market for you is the automotive market with its requirements. More and more customers want to have their content produced with Unreal.
Not only movies but also stills in very high resolution.
Unlike film, stills require various layers from the pathtracer such as Diffuse, Roughness Reflection, etc. for post-processing.
All physically correct to be able to recreate the beauty. Simpler masks using tags would also be very helpful.
Photoshop cannot do Cryptomatte. In order to really replace the offline renderer, i.e. Vray or Arnold, we need a functioning system.
The customers are pushing and the service providers are currently at a loss because the workflow is currently more of a workaround.
Please implement a rendering system as soon as possible that is efficient for the post-processing of stills. And more stability at high resolutions wouldn’t be bad either.
And yes, I know custom Stencil, MRG with Render Layer
Also custom PPM’s but none of that is usable when it comes to “physical authenticity” of e.g. carpaints. I hope you guys have a look on it, because a lot of artist working in this field. Thank you!
