Render Grid Plugin

Hello everyone!

After watching the Unreal Engine Fest talk " Getting Started with Unreal Engine and Remote Control API" (which was super fun and well presented) I started looking into the Render Grid plugin and setting up a test project. It seems with the logic tab that you could potentially send specific jobs to computers on your network in a distributed way. Is the render grid plugin going to be used in this manner?

I’m curious if this hunch is correct. I have yet to see anything else appear in the engine up to this point that could handle something like this. With its batch rendering capabilities, it seems like you could do some “offline” rendering with the path tracer and have everything nice and organized. Curious to hear others’ thoughts and opinions!

Would love some more info on this as well, as this post is nearly the only mention of this plugin when doing a search for it

Although not exactly for distributed rendering, I can see blueprint nodes relating to this use case and I am currently exploring Render Grid to fill the void of information about it.
