Render bug between materials in Mesh Terrain

This is in Unreal Engine 5.8 using mesh terrain with MPD and Sensei Terrain materials, when rendering or pressing play, some parts of the terrain are invisible.

Hello there @Doc1Lab!

From your screenshot, that looks like a case of culling, or even displacement. Also, before anything, since you are working with Mesh Terrain, which is still a new and experimental feature, it’s worth checking it’s UE docs, before anything:

Now, first thing I would try here, is to swap the Sensei Terrain material for a regular, basic material, then hit play real quick. This is just to rule out any potential conflicts with the material itself.

If the basic material shows no holes, then the conflict is between Sensei itself. Check the material’s values for WPO displacement, and try increasing it by 50, 100, 150 and so forth, until the holes disappear.

On the other hand, if the basic material also has holes, I would suggest forcing a rebuild in your mesh partitions. After that, save the whole level, then test rendering again.
