So my question is that I have 2 videos that I am feeding in Reality Capture and it makes frames in 2 separate folders from these videos. In each of these folders, the frames are named as
frame00001, frame00002, and so on. I am using a workflow where I want to first only align the images in RC and then feed the Registration and Point cloud files with both the folder frames/datasets in Post Shot to make a Gaussian Splat out of it. When I try to put frames/Images from both the image datasets in one folder with the Registration and Point Cloud data and then import this folder in Post Shot it gives me the alignment of both the camera datasets but makes a weird model. In another case when in the same folder where I put the frames of both the camera datasets but rename the second camera dataset made by RC from frame0001 to something else and feed now this whole folder in PostShot it gives me a better GS. Is naming something to do with the rendering of GS and if yes how can I tell RC that after I have imported a video in it it should name the frames not automatically like frame0001 but whatever I want with an increment for each next frame that will be made from the video.
Hi @FutureFabrik
Unfortunately, this is not possible to do. You need to rename the files after their creation.
Probably the best way to do this is to just drag and drop the videos into RC, then after import, close RC without saving the project; you will now have the frame folders next to the videos, and you can do whatever you like with them, maybe rename them all and put them all in 1 folder. You can then forget about the videos and just drag and drop the frames folder into RC and process.
