Remove Gun from Skeletal Mesh


Hi guys.I am using this character for an animation it comes with a gun attached and I would like to remove it. You cant apply an invisible material to it because the gun is not separated into its own section. You cant delete it because UE no longer has tools for that, and if you export it as an FBX to upload to a different 3dmodel tool such as Blender, or to a previous version of UE where polygon edit plugins were still available the skeleton gets altered and the animations no longer work with the mesh. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

You probably want MUTABLE plugin:

Get it (or sample project), load that character, and cut off weapon with plugin, then you can bake modified skeleton.

assuming the weapon has a root bone you could set the XYZ scale to 0
