Remove arms from skeleton and animations


I am working on a VR game I want to put a mesh in a capsule for the vr character. I am considering removing arms and hands. I am afraid that if I modify the model I will destroy chanced of animation retargeting (without arms). Is it possible to turn off visibility on certain parts of a skeletal mesh?


Well the best practice way is if you have 3ds Max you can import the model+rig and drop down in the stack and remove stuff you don’t need and reexport/reimport.

The easy way is to just make an opacity to remove the surface texture.
