I’m getting the following error after enabling 4.2 plugin and restarting the engine on a windows 7 64bit machine:
Then after adding the sequence actor the sky wouldn’t render, just black. Any idea what’s missing?
I’ve tested 4.1a on the same machine and 4.2 on another windows 10 machine and both were fine.
I’m trying to use the lowerhemisphere property of the sky light, but it appears for for sometime then it fades again to black, I’m testing it with 4.1 latest, I’ve added a sphere with a fully reflective material and another sphere with a full diffuse material, if i case the skylight to reset by changing any property (like toggling its visibility of then on), the lower hemisphere color i set will appear briefly again then fade to black
Running the megascans plugin and at the same time introduces several issues. are some reproduction steps. Both plugins need to be installed and active.
Just opening a sequence asset crashes the editor with the error message shown.
Executing the megascans plugin first,
then a sequence works, but only with a messed up UI that doesn’t allow for the window to be moved or closed.
Opening the megascans plugin again brings back the window buttons but the sequence UI itself is gone.
If you could investigate that would be amazing, since I’d love to be able to use both plugins at the same time. Cheers!
Hi there,
while trying to open sequence editor an error has showin up:
The sequencer won’t initialize, I get an error that the application failed to start because it could not find the Qt platform plugin “windows”.
I am using version 4.19 4.1a, but I can’t find the option to set Day and night cycle ,How do I automatically loop through the time I set during playback? And my cloud has no shadow cast on the ground,I can’t add lightning? Setting the storm option didn’t see lightning appearing. The setting about the shadow seems to be invalid. I think you should update a few tutorial videos on Youtube or update the help documentation. After all, it has not been updated for a few years. will definitely promote your sales volume
We have same problem like in post #1445 with transparent clouds. problem appear in versions of (plugin installer) for UE 4.20.1: (4.1a.223)(4.1a.230)(4.1a.231)(4.1a.233) and (4.2.222)(4.2.231)_(4.2.233).
We use UE4 4.20.2. just for clarification. Also we use plugin for Ue 4.18.3 and 4.19.1, it works great.
Screenshots from 4.1a.233 (UE 4.20.2) with default settings of plugin. Screenshot №2 without Depth Blending, №3 with Depth Blending:
Yup, same problem, looks like “Lighter Color” blending to me, cause we can see only highlights through the clouds. If the clouds are brighter than the object behid them, you won’t see the object. But making clouds so bright is kinda… And yeah, don’t see any difference with Depth Blending On/Off. Is that option broken?
We also thought so, but even if we set the Sun Multiplier to 0, at first glance everything looks OK, but if you fly into the clouds, they are still transparent.
There seems to be a problem in the material - trueSKYTransparency and modifier or in C++.
On Thursday, I wrote an e-mail with a bug report, since then new versions of 4.1a (ue4.20) have stopped coming out. So we will wait and hope that is not a coincidence.
If you look closely, there is a difference between off and on, but not the same as before.
We’re going through a whole bunch of the outstanding issues week that have been mentioned recently – the most common being the transparency-related behavior that people are experiencing.
Follow-Up Questions
Are you referring to a tiled landscape setup with world composition?
Regarding the ‘disappearing’ issue: are there any errors being output to your log? And can you check to ensure your “Minimum View Size” settings (in Project Settings->Plugins->) are more than adequate for the viewports you’re seeing the appear in (if they’re lower than the viewport size, will just not render in that viewport).
I cannot figure out why I’m getting strange with Lighting and Shadows.
Is their a setting to change that will fix .
also causes the Sun to flicker and so same as the Shadows.
So I think that is caused by something pertaining to the Sun, since the sun casts the shadows.
Using the UE4 Plugin
Multiplayer / Dedicated Setup.
Works fine in Single player / Non-Dedicated
is video link to see what the shadows are doing, Sorry for some reason I don’t have the Sun in the video
But it jumps around doing the exact thing the shadows do.
No clouds appear at night.
(It does not appear when you touch the cloud-related properties of the sequence, as does the sample sequence)
I want to make a cloudy sky
(The daylight is too strong, causing the cloud to step in. Sun properties do not see the lighting settings, and the direction lighting in the world liner does not change.)
Setting the rain or snow in the sequence does not work, what should I do?
I’m working on a blueprint.
