There are a few parameters to tweak the maximum sun radiance, you could try that.
Hey all, I’m having trouble getting up and working at all with 4.16.2. I’ve got the binary plug in installed. I can create TruSky sequence actors, see the example files, create a new one as well. They show up in the view port no trouble. However, when I double click to edit my new asset, I get several error messages and a full editor crash.
The stand alone Sequencer app launches and seems functional.
I’m just trying to begin experimenting with tool but I can’t really make use of it and the error messages don’t mean anything to me. I’ve tried re installs of both the engine and the TruSky tools.
Anyone seen something similar?
Hi, we supply the binary version for UE4 versions: UE 4.16.1 ,UE 4.15.3 and UE 4.14.3 . I don’t really know how it will behave if you install it on a newer version. I’ll give it a try with the version 4.16.2. Are you using the engine binary or compiling from source?
I’m using the binary, straight from the launcher. I’ll download 4.16.1 and see if it behaves as expected on my end. Thanks!
@POTWD I just tried it and works fine, did you install the binary in the correct folder? You should give the installer the path to the “Engine” folder.
Alright nice to see its workin! One question for you, how did you mange to download the binaries for the 4.16.1? My launcher wont let me:

it’s not working yet unfortunately on my 4.16.2.
I have my unreal engines installed on a separate drive, not my C drive, so the engines all wind up living :
D:\Epic Games\UE_4.16\
is where I pointed the TruSky plugin. When I pick a different directory, it will caution that it doesn’t “see” an engine install. but it installs just fine with no errors.
I installed 4.15.3 and the matching TruSky plug-in and that worked. Created a custom asset and was able to launch the UE wrapped editor to edit it.
For the life of me I can’t understand why it’s failing on the 4.16.2 install.
I can make an asset in there but trying to edit the thing leads to a full crash.
(I’m assuming I can grab the 4.16.1 from github and rebuild against that. but I’d prefer to stick with the binary if possible.)
What happened to the True Sky Light? It does not affect the color of shadows and the environment. If I use standart Sky Light everything looks as it should.

Just wanted to let you know I’m up and running on 4.16.2.
I did a full re install of the engine, full reinstall of TruSky and then re-installed any other plug-ins I have on the project. IT all seems to be working now. Thanks for looking into yesterday. Not sure what went wrong but it’s all set now.

I have been unable to use the trueSKYLight since forever. I posted about it a long time ago in thread. Are we supposed to do something different when using it instead of regular skylight? I read the documentation but couldn’t find a reason for it making speculars look so strange. I’ve ended up using a regular skylight and recapture it every once in a while for time of day change.
Hi @, the TrueSkyLight Actor replaces standard sky light while keeping it’s functionality. I just tried it (UE4.16.2 binary / trueSKY_800) and it was working in forward and deferred. Maybe you have changed the settings?
How can I replicate on multiplayer? How can I do to show the same thing to other players on the server? tk
