Considering I probably won’t get it to run before my free trial runs out, I’m gonna go with another option.
To be honest thats a good idea. I havent stopped messing with it in the last few updates and it keeps getting worse. I could go on all day about the issues, but, i think your probably feeling the pain of it all as it is, so, i will let it go lol. I have been much happier with the BP_SkySphere that comes with UE4, and, valid options for things are SuperGenius Weather and Orbit. Orbits sky looks terrible, but, there are combinations of those 2 things that will work in nearly all situations.
Unfortunately there is very little help to be had. has never been stable, I’ve used it over a year ago, then tried again about 6 months ago, and seeing the feedback now I don’t intend to give it another shot. It seems that the project is nosediving toward the inevitable crash and burn.
Ok, we have removed from our SCUM project and we are now using other solution for the sky.

Try to find my problem along thread and find nothing.
Problem is - vhen create true sky sequence assen and try to open it I open just empty window.
It look like .
I update engine to latest 4.15.1 version.
I download and install latest version of True Sky plugin for UE 4.15.0.
Create new project, enable plugin, restart engine, create sequence reference, create sequence asset … And its all.
When I try to open asset output log say:

What qt_en.qm it can’t find.
What " translator " it want to run but can’t and why?
Maybe it becaus of some language settings in my Windows or I need to install some system updates?

When i assign sequence asset to true sky actor output log begin constantly show warning:

O_o … I don’t have any d:\jarvis\releases\simulversion\4.1\simul\plugins\ue4\pluginrenderinterface\ directory after inslallation. Why it loking for something in directory?
Just disappointed… Expect to find something grand but it looks like tons of bugs. I realy interested to use plugin, it’s realy amazing and I just want to try trial before buying to see wat is it and how it work. It would be very nice to find a solution to these problems.

Hi guys. I continue testing your True Sky. Download and install latest version for 4.14. Try to make test scene.
Something terrible is happening with the moon.
On first screenshot I assign rotation values for moon light and it was completely wrong. It shine in day time as you can see.
On second screenshot I try to add some modifiers to values. But it was steel difference between moon light rotation and visible moon circle.
And most terrible that adding to pitch any values bigger or lesser than 180 not give better results in matching. Just make situation more incorrect.
Also I have several questions on which I would appreciate to hear answers.
- As I see - new version comes out every day. Is there any place where able to see some " patch notes " read about changes and fixes? New versions of product every day and have no idea what was changed.
- You have nice skylight with dynamic rendered cubemap but as i can see it is just for reflections and light color just white all time even in a very red colored sunrise. Is in plans to add some time of day dependent changes for light color to skylight like in sunlight?
- Already mentioned cubemap was very nice but in night time it shows black nothing in reflections even if stars was very bright. I understand that stars is just any cubemap that you don’t capture in sky cubemap and it really makes no sense because in low resolution capture stars was unnoticeable. But maybe it’s in your plans to add inside your plugin skylight some blend between dynamically rendered cubemap and static cosmic cubemap texture in night time for better looking reflections?
It seems that I was wrong. Skylight does changes it’s color during sunset and sunrise. But very little in some situations when there should be more.
And the ansvwer is silent.
Amazing plugin, minimum feedback. You never know what will be improved / changed / patched / broken in the next " every day new version ". The unpredictable plugin from which you do not know what to expect tomorrow. Maybe buy. But not today.
you woke the dead thread. everyone has the same issues. neat plugin, assuming it worked, or, was supported. the other is that if you get a working one, update your project to version 4.xx.xx, the corresponding will 100% be broken when you apply it. plugin just isnt worth the time and effort for … volumetic clouds and some really REALLY poorly designed “weather” system … the fps loss isnt worth it. maybe for like a fllight sim, otherwise, its just volumetic clouds that are broken (broken clouds, particles, skylight, etc)
Out of curiosity, do you happen to have a list of things that aren’t working or aren’t working the way you’d expect? I’m using it in my game and really don’t have the kinds of issues you seem to be describing.
I’m helping out with TS for the time being, and I can see if there’s anything I can look into whilst doing so on the UE side.
sure - feel free to read the thread, its full of nearly all the issues that ppl are having, and, causing them to switch from TS to other options.
I have kept up with it for some time; a lot of the issues mentioned have been fixed. As for taking the TS-calculated moon rotation and then applying … odd rotation values on top of them and getting an odd result, that’s not super surprising. The depth blending fixes have been ongoing. The sequencer lasted for a day or two before getting fixed. That seems to be the gist of what’s recent.
As for the crash log at the very top, there’s more context that needs to be provided to really know what’s up with that.
But, if you have a specific list, that will go a long way to seeing the issues you have getting remedied.

I just get all actors of class ( get your TS actor ) -> get from it " moon rotation " -> and set it to direct light and … and rotation was incorrect. IN COR RECT ! It not adjust with visible moon circle… It shine on day time. Look at screenhots.

Before write something like " you get odd … you set odd … just an idiodd … bla bla " may it will be better just try to examine problem your self.
Of course maybe today it was fixed. And if I download new version and install I see it. But do I realy need to download new versions every day to look for some fixes without patch notes and normal feedback if I buy TS?
