Thank you it works
I must also say that I’m getting very bad flickering with UE and the 4.1 binary.
I also just tried replacing the default skylight I had in my scene with the skylight and got a huge drop in performance. Is there an explanation about how the two lights differ somewhere? I realise the skylight doesn’t need the skylight cubemapRT hooked to it.
another strange thing happening with binary is a huge line arcing through the sky (can be seen in the flickering video posted by unreal_mike).
One last note - is it possible to stop from drawing in every single editor viewport??
Thanks guys.
I am getting all of , plus a RGB color effect on everything (looks like its trying to display all my normals as textures). Replacing the Tresky_Skylight resolved, but, it looks bad now lol.
That line in the sky i am getting, its like a giant blue seam that runs along the sky_sphere (i know its not called that, but, the dome the uses). It comes and goes, depending on the camera location … looking directly at it, i see it … if i pan away it seems to flicker and go away (sometimes).
Also i wanted to add that clouds are not scaled in Global Reflections. Using the reflection spheres, it looks fine. Using just global reflection they look like little tiny clouds on the water surface. I have a post in general and in the ocean project asking for help, but, for some reason, doesnt play nice with Global Planer Reflections turned on.
EDIT: Global update
it was the transparent sky and the transparent ocean material causing issues …
added a true sky transparency blend node to my material … bam! resolved!
You’re saying that adding the transparency blend node to your materials caused the flickering and giant seam to disappear?
I was gravitating towards being the case, but I haven’t used that node in any of my materials because it always seems to straight up break whatever material I put it into. Every single material I’ve tried just renders invisible using that node. I feel like I obviously am using the wrong settings, but I followed the documentation to the letter, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
yes and no
I still have some flickering going on so im not sure it resovled that part
It DID resolve the transparent blend issues between the sky and the water plane.
Just adding the TrueSkyTransparentcyBlend node and using only the opacity resolved that
Some of my flickering has been resolved, but, i still have it, just, less…
I fired up my scene again last night, and strangely the flickering and performance drop was gone - i still have the big line in the sky however.
I’ve had no problem using the transparency modifier in my materials, make sure it’s always the last thing to go into the material.
i should add I’m working on a VR project, so i turn on the “share buffers for VR” flag on the actor.
looking inside the trueskyTransparencyModifier, it looks like the add node just to the left of out emissive needs to be connected to out emissive ?
I’ve got a quite of a serious problem with plugin. Got my evaluation time and the plugin keeps freezing my PC. Permanently.
Whenever I try to edit anything in the clouds settings or sky settings Unreal Engine becomes totally unresponsive.
Maybe because I’m working on a 4.13.2 and got a plugin for .
Any ideas?
i say start with the correct version of the plugin? should not be the, but, i mean, i would start there …
use the installer if you are not using the github of UE4.13.2
Install tot he right place - open UE project - enable the plugin …
results are the same?
computer specs?
There’s no installer for 4.13.2.
Tried both versions, it still freezes my PC.
Installed in the right place, UE 4.13 directory, the only directory it didn’t tell me there’s no Engine installed. Plugin is enabled by default, but double checked it. If I didn’t have it enabled I wouldn’t be able to use it’s nodes for set sun, set moon or add any sequencers to the scene, which I can.
ASRock H97 Performance,
Intel i7 4790k - 4.3 GHz,
Nvidia GTX 760,
16 GB ram DDR3,
Windows 7 professional,
Never had any problems with UE4 before.
Steps:
Open a project,
Check for simul plugin enabled - it is,
Add update Sunlight, update moonlight nodes in the level blueprint - all good,
Window -> TrueSkyTab - Add Sequence to Scene - all good, works fine.
In the TrueSkySequenceActor I click the Active Sequence roll and click “Create Asset” - Sometimes complete freeze, have to reset the PC.
Whenever I try to edit anything in the TrueSkySequence asset window ( new window where you can edit the sky, clouds, keyframes) it freezes completely. Have to reset the PC.
Oh, and I cannot see any clouds no matter what I click, the cumulus, stratus, these I can click, but nothing changes for me. The True Sky Sequencer documentation page is 404 so I have no idea how it should work really.
Just ran the standalone sequencer for True Sky and it freezes as well. I’m missing something.
Going to leave to the guys. I see no issues or hangups (or reasons there of) for your system. Very odd.
Error when opening the editor
Hi guys,
I’m having problems opening the editor when double clicking a trueskyasset. I’m getting error (sorry but is in spanish)
Does anyone experience ?
Thank you
Hi ,
Which version of UE4 is it (4.13.2, 4.13.2 etc), and which installer?
Cheers,
Hi ,
I’m using different installer for 4.13 but is happening in different machines and in the machines I finally got it working the editor doesn’t allow me to pick keys, the only way is to select the keys with a box selection.
Changed the graphics card, works perfectly. Gotta say, is a must buy for me. Time to save some money
Any ETA on a 4.14 update? All our other plugins are updated, just waiting for .
I have a problem regarding godrays. The godrays dosent show up from the directional light but from the other side of the level. Why does that happend?

Hi dudes,
I think I am too silly to install the . I have already installed the for UE4.13.2 in “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\4.13\Engine\Plugins\Engine\Plugins”. I think has created the last “/Engine/Plugins” by itself. There also came a “warning message” while installing “UE4 doesn’t seem to contain an Unreal Engine installation. Continue anyway(YES), or choose a different one(No)?”. In the Engine the Plugin just showed up. But nothing worked the way it should.
So my wish is that someone could help me out. I really wanna use Plugin.
What exactly do I have to do to get it to work?
Cheers
You should install it to “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\4.13”
Got it to work, created a wring direction to the folders. But I have one more Problem right now when it comes to create “TrueSkylightColorAndRotation” in the Level Blueprint Editor, Node does not exist, what can I do?
