Happy jamming!

Hi~ Must the main character of the game be the Bot provided in the sample, or is it not required?

Hey There! What exactly counts as a student? Is it just anyone above 13 and under 18? Or is it people who are doing this as a school project or something else school-related?

Also, are we supposed to reuse meshes? And can I reuse the map but make a lot of changes? I would just like to know before I start tomorrow.

Hi

I didn’t understand if the game must be packaged to just one of the platforms mentioned in the rules or more than one?

Thank you

Hello, I would like to clarify. I really want to participate in the jam, but I’m in Russia right now. Does this mean that I cannot participate or, in the case of prizes, I will not be able to become a winner?

Hey @Mameeyo  The main character doesn’t have to be the one provided in the sample. It can be a custom character or something else. The focus of the jam is on level design and using the Stack-O-Bot sample to aid in that level design in whichever fashion works for you and your concept.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Player_SPS

In regards to the event, to qualify as a student, they must be enrolled at an accredited institution, whether full-time/part-time/distance learning, or at a physical establishment. This does also include those that are on summer break awaiting the resuming of their active studies in the coming weeks. If, during eligibility checks through the judging process a student entry is found to not be eligible, they will be added to the non-student category. If it shows that there has been falsification, the entry may be disqualified.

I hope that helps clear that up for you

Hey hey @BTOLINSKI  Your game submission only needs to be packaged to one of the platforms mentioned in the rules.

Thanks for your question!

Hey @Clootron  Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately we are unable to distribute prizes to Russia at this time. Restricted Jurisdictions aren’t able to compete in the contest. Therefore an entry from an individual residing in that that region, or regions mentioned under “Restricted Jurisdictions” would be disqualified and unable to be a potential winning entry.

Thanks!

Last time I attempted to have my students participate in an Epic Jam it turned out they needed to be 18 years old. I don’t see any information about age on the official rules.

Thank you for bringing this up @SpecsSensei. To be an eligible participant, entrants are required to be at least 18 years old.

We’re added a note of this on the event page as part of the criteria.

Hi! I think it was mentioned in the announcement stream, but could we get official clarification on the use of fab assets for the jam? In the stream it was mentioned that using fab assets is allowed, as long as we attribute/credit the creators.

Hey @MrBeardy, this is correct. You can use any sourced assets as long as they are credited during the submission process, for which there is a field during submission where you can list/link those assets. Naturally, you can also use original assets (those you may create for the jam, during the jam) which wouldn’t need to be listed.

Happy jamming!

Hi, this is my first time attending a game jam at Epic. I wanted to know if there is a specific genre we need to make the game in or if it can be any genre?
