When using chests from the Chest & Ammo Gallery and setting their “Regenerate Loot” option to True, the chests do reset and can be looted again, but their visual appearance does not revert to closed/illuminated.

Enable “Regenerate Loot” on a chest and set a short enough “Time Until Loot Regeneration” time to test
Observe
Expected Result
Chest’s visual appearance reverts to that of an unopened/new chest.
Observed Result
Chest remains open and unilluminated, but can be looted again.
I can confirm this issue, because I wanted to use these Chests too, so I tried them few times over time, but this function to regenerate loot is quite useless for me if visual aspect of it (model of a Chest) don’t update. So I am not using them at all because of it.
Yeh… I’m kinda irked, lol – I’ve already carefully placed ~50 chests around my map and the mutator zones I’ll be using to determine loot pools. I’m really only using these for the visuals… They match my map well and look great. I’d really rather not have to create my own chests from scratch
What solution did you end up going with? (btw – vote up the issue at the top right!)
I am just not using anything like this until it will be fixed. I have only one exception where I am using it in one map, but the Chest is not even visible (I have it there only for spawning of items and its effects) and the area where it is located is reseted each time when some Player enters it, so it is viable in that scenario.
There are many other things that are working correctly and I can do something with them instead of to be fixated on one thing that is broken, which means that it can be fixed in some point in the future and then I will revisit it and my ideas about what to do with it. I already learned my lesson that if something in UEFN doesn’t work and is not really crucial for my project, then I just can not afford to waste my time on it and I have to move to something else or I would not finish anything in the end.
I just tried all chests from chest gallery after an update to v35.00 and these chests correctly reset their visual state after looting (when they are set to regenerate loot after some time):

These chests don’t reset their visual state and stay opened while they can be looted again:

This one chest (with the most common visuals) is different than all above, because it is visually opened after it is looted for the first time and will not close while it can be looted again. But when it is looted for the second time, it will close and stay closed forever even after it regenerates and is looted again and again after that:
