Reflections / Specular Showing Through Volumetrics

I’ve got a set of volumetric spotlights in my map but I’m facing this issue where when I look through the volumetric lights, anything that has a low roughness or high specular shows through, as seen in the image below. The only two lights in the scene is the white point light and the blue spotlight.

If I disable reflections altogether then the problem is fixed but then obviously I lose all the reflections around the level. Does anyone have any idea as to how I could fix this problem? Many thanks!
