Reduce the Sun Intensity of HDR map

I am trying to use HDR map as a sky sphere, but it seemed to me that the sky around the sun was too bright. The rest was okay.
Since I want to keep the sky’s brightness, does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? Any help is appreciated.

Here pics of the screen and blueprint:

Hey enternalsaga,

So you could try reducing the ‘Bloom’ intensity and modifying the ‘Auto-Exposure’ setting within your Post Processing to get the skysphere to even out the brightness.

Let me know if this helped or if you need further assistance.

Cheers,

If you are using a HDR sky capture as your source for your in-game skybox. You will have to paint out your sun in the skybox image or else you will be double counting your sun. I’m assuming you have placed an unreal directional light in the same position as your sun in the skybox image?

It’s not simple to paint out the sun in HDR source, but it’s totally possible to do this which would get you much closer to being physically correct. I’m still looking into sun intensity values and how they are represented in Unreal, but that’s another question. Haven’t found any solid documentation on this yet.
