In case any of you are lucky enough to use one of the very new RED Helium cameras (shoots 8K res movies/stills) I thought I’d share the entry I’m adding to the sensorsdb.xml file required for RC to be “happy” and not draw the Yellow warning triangles.
<camera model=“RED WEAPON HELIUM” ccdWidth=“29.9”/>
the “29.9” value was derived by looking at the camera sensor specs which list 29.9 mm (hor) by 15.77mm (ver).
I’m extracting lossless JPG frames from the RED clips and initially trying various “use every n’th” image scenarios into RC to create a solve. My JPGs are roughly 24 Mbytes each. Too early to tell how well it might work.
