Red Mission V1.3.0.0 released on itch.io

Red Mission by feline78 (itch.io)

Red Mission is an action-packed arcade shooter. It was inspired by 80s arcade games as well as Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST and old PC-DOS titles. It’s a completely solo project, I created all the pixel art, Blueprint scripting, game design, music and sfx (except the sounds that came from a paid sound library), story and writing.

Red Mission was first released in December 2023 and the game is under development.

August 1984…

You have been dropped into the African jungle to stop your commander who has gone very deep into a hellish pact with the darkest of forces. Your pulse is racing and your hands are sweaty as you grip your assault rifle like your life depends on it, because it does.

As a lone soldier, this is your shot at saving the world from Dicker’s demonic allies. But at this crucial moment, if you are honest with yourself as the heavy loneliness weighs you down… You feel that it is about saving yourself first… Kill Mason Dicker as he is now one with the devil.

Kill Mason Dicker if you want to live. Kill Mason Dicker if you want the whole world to live on with you.

Hi there @leb78,

Hope you’re well

I’ve been obsessed with pixel art games for a few months now and this looks so charming and just so cool. I wish I had “discovered” the genre years ago but I’m glad to see it now! If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been working on this?

Thank you for your words!

On and off since 2021 but vary, vary sparingly at first. So it began around 2021 and I created the vast majority of the pixel art in Asesprite in a few weeks and I built a small game prototype but did not like it much (the game itself). So I put in on the shelf and starting doing other game art and so on.

It was in October of 2023 that I decided to start pushing myself to start finalizing my projects or at least work on them more frequently. I’ve made some decent progress but I’m still not where I want to be.

Life circumstances allow me to have a bit more time these days so I should be doing even more.
