Red line drawn from root after model import

Just started recently I get a red line type of indicator off the root bone. This is not a root motion thing (I think) as it’s the model and not the animation but when I apply animation the model drops to the location.

Engine version?
did you check your persona preview scene settings? Same place you choose the backdrop and light options.

Also, if you open the skeleton instead of the mesh, does it show the same line?

Something must be off with your model, never saw this before.

I know this is now an older post, but I found the solution to this problem in 5.0.2 and it might apply to anyone searching this in the future.

The red bone in Unreal when viewing the “Root” bone indicates that the Root’s origin point is not at 0,0,0. When testing with Blender using a standard armature, having the armature’s origin not at 0,0,0 will cause the bone to turn red in Unreal (hence getting some weird issues with it when trying to animate/IK Retarget). Resetting the origin to 0 and re-exporting fixed the issue on this end.

I got this red bone in Maya too.
Here’s the solution>>
Bring the bone to 0 0 0 > export the skinweight > freeze transform all the joints (no matter you already have done before,freeze them again) > reimport the skin weight > export.
