Recording anim while anim LoopPlay is running?

I’ve watched the puppeteering with VR in ue5, and made me think about this.

I’ve an htc vive, I would love to animate or even pose my characters with it.
Because its possible to record in real time, but…
is It possible to record any specific part of the rig (maybe hips, or both legs) while the LOOP-PLAY on this animation is running?

in example, lets say i’ve a RUN cycle, and i want to replace some of the HIP movement, so… can I grab the hip while run cycle anim is playing on loop, and do some real time movement /adjustment on RECORDING?
