I’m looking for a recommendation for a laptop for developing graphics for a movie. I’m a complete noob.
Minimum
Ram 16 GB
gpu with VRAM 12 GB (8GB is feasible but you might run into issues as your project grow and using 4k textures)
CPU an intel i5 12-14th gen should be fair enough
ssd 1TB
Since you be constantly running heavily on your laptop, double check you can turn off / disconnect the battery if you can plug it in at home, this will increase it life span.
Also check out reviews if their cooling fan is doing their job properly.
Avoid keyboard casing that feel too plastic(wobble around when pinching it) as your laptop heat up, it might deform the casing keyboard after a few years.

Hey there @poundingCode! Welcome to the community! Arodi is correct, I just came to link the hardware requirements page. If you’re going to be doing some in depth rendering, I’d recommend a desktop with more than minimum requirements, but if a laptop fits your needs better, heed Arodi’s recommendations about temperature. Renders can heat up laptops well beyond most other software, so don’t skip on a cooling fan.
