Realtime Smooth: Is there a way to enable it?

Hello All,

As I’m building most of the assets for my project using Blender, I’m using iClone, Character Creator and 3DXchange to export my animated characters.

Everything export and import great from 3DXchange to UE4 as .FBX format. So far so good,
But I have a weird issue and wonder if you can help me out:

In Character Creator they have a nice option called: “Realtime Smooth” usually it’s always ON when I’m working.
As you can see on the screenshots, the model looks smooth and nice.

But as I import to UE4… the character looks Low Poly again, and I have no idea how to fix it inside UE4.
I did try the Normal Compute option when importing, I did try the other options but I always get the same result: low poly look…

I’ve tried to get some help via Reallusion’s forums but unfortunately the awesome guys couldn’t help because it might be a UE4 solution so I decided to try and get help from you expert guys.

Can you please help:
What am I doing wrong? And how can I fix it?

My project could look much better if the character will look smooth as it should be…
is there an option inside UE4 like this “Realtime Smooth” that I can enable?

Thanks ahead and sorry about my bad English.

In your material in UE4 there’s a Tessellation option which will subdivide and smooth the model.

Thank you so much for sharing!
This makes everything looks so much better
