Hi everyone, I am running into consistent crashes during reconstruction in RealityScan and hoping someone has seen this before.
Setup:
Lenovo Legion 7i Tower Gen 10
Intel Ultra 9 285K with 24 cores
RTX 5080 (Latest NVIDIA Studio Drivers- clean install)
96GB RAM, also tested with original 32GB
Windows 11 Home fully updated
Software:
RealityScan 2.1
Postshot and Metashape both work fine on this machine
Project:
About 3300 images at 20MP each
Alignment completes successfully
Crash happens when starting Normal Detail reconstruction
Issue:
System crashes with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x3b and then restarts the PC
Happens consistently at the same stage of reconstruction
Debugging details from WinDbg:
Exception code 0xc0000005 access violation
Fault occurs in nt!CcCopyReadEx which is part of the Windows cache and file read path
Stack includes Ntfs.sys, FLTMGR, and NtReadFile
Crashing process is RealityScan.exe
What I have tried:
Moved cache between drives C and D
Tested dataset on separate drive and same drive
Disabled Windows Defender, indexing, and background services
Tested with different RAM configs from 32GB to 96GB
At this point it seems specific to RealityScan during reconstruction and heavy disk IO. Has anyone experienced similar crashes or found a workaround?
Appreciate any help
Sal
