RealityScan 1.3.0 Release Notes

RealityScan 1.3 is now available.

What’s New

  • Auto-Capture
Tap the capture button once to enter auto-capture mode, which takes photos for you automatically as you move around the object. Tap the capture button again to exit auto-capture mode.

  • UI/UX improvements
Improved viewer navigation, including helpful guidance for first-time users and a new layout for viewer actions in the Capture view.

  • Improved automated cropbox
When you send your scan for processing without cropping it first, the resulting model is more focused on your subject, with less of its surroundings included.

  • Unguided mode
Turn off Live Guidance in the Settings to avoid uploading photos as you scan, and to disable live guidance features like real-time point clouds and preview models. This replaces the previous Offline Mode option, and offers a more streamlined workflow for users who don’t need live guidance. You can still send your scans for processing as normal when you’re finished capturing.

  • Advanced navigation viewport controls
Two-finger pan, double-tap to zoom in, and a new Reset View button to center the model.

  • Faster processing
This release also brings the latest improvements in RealityCapture processing, providing faster model reconstruction and texturing.

Bugs Fixed

  • Fixed an issue that caused some projects to become stuck in the Processing or Queued status indefinitely.
  • Fixed an issue that caused an endless spinner during project processing in the Export and Share window.

Android-specific

  • Fixed camera lagging problems experienced when capturing images with Google Pixel devices.
  • Fixed a crash that caused users to be redirected to the Project list after taking multiple pictures on Google Pixel devices.

Very nice set of new features!
I wonder - will it support the turntable workflow at some point in the future (the camera stays fixed at a tripod, and a small subject rotates on a turntable)?
