Hello.
I’ve watched a lot of tutorials about lighting setup. My goal is to render house facade colors from Caparol color palette. The goal for this is to setup correct exterior lighting conditions as real as possible. I though I need to use HDRI Env with Path tracer or Lumen for that.
My questions:
- When to use HDRI environment Intensity and when Natural lighting Sun intensity. I have match sun to HDRI enabled. To make scene brighter I have those two switches and Camera exposure. My question is when to use Sun Intensity slider and when HDRI env intensity slider? In what order and when to set camera exposure. At the beginning or at the end? So in general workflow question assumming my scene does not contain any non natural light sources.
- Do HDRI environments that come with Twinmotion and exchangable. What I mean by that. Suppose I select one HDRI for noon clear sky. I will configure Intensity so it looks ok. Now when I switch to another HDRI do I need to set HDRI Intensity again for this new selection or it can be left and just I should update camera exposure in such situation?
- When to use Skydome vs Backdrop and how to set camera white balance?
- Do professionals using some template scene for example to set up/calibrate light first and then when light conditions are fine they move to specific scene without touching this calibration?
I understand those are basic questions from beginner. I’m not familiar with Unreal Engine at all so forgive me if this question maybe is not Twinmotion related but UE related. I will be more than happy to point me in right direction in workflow with the exterior light with and HDRI envs.
