Re-projection Texture Advice

What are the recommended setting for texturing and then texture-reprojection within RC?

At the moment I’m using my “normal quality” mesh, setting it to 4K texture and picking optimal textel size, that is then my high quality texture. I will then simply the mesh down by maybe 50% so its a fairly light weight model and then re-project the high quality texture onto that model. For the simplified model I just use the same unwrap settings as before. For the reprojection maximum distance I opened it up to 0.5 to give it a bit more margin to work with.

Problem I am finding is it seems to just stall performing in the texture reprojection at 15%. It appears the unwrap function is represented by the first 15% then the process after that is the actual reprojection.

I’ve found if i make the simplified mesh have a less intense unwrap setting, say lower the textel size a bit the reprojection process seems to complete but my understanding is in doing that I’m losing quality in my texture.

This stalling at 15%, is that a sign that I’m trying to jump too far between my normal quality mesh and my simplified mesh? Are there different settings I should be using?

What version of RC do you use ? Does re-projections stall every time?
You use simplify tool in RC or edit your model in external software? 
Do you unwrap your simplified model first? 

I have run test with your settings, and reprojection work without any issues regardless amount of simplification. 
Please try to make Topology check and clean model before reprojection.
