Re-create this rocky terrain using landscape tools?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if someone could tell me whether it’s possible to make that cliff model in this video using the landscape tools or something like world machine?

Here’s a screenshot for those wary of links.

From what I understand the only way to do this is by using tesselation or vertex paint?

From what I know, tessellation doesn’t have collision, and trying to get a tessellated material to protrude out as far as those rocks do will look a bit ugly(?)

Most of the time cliffs like that are static meshes, if you were to hide all static meshes in that scene you’ll realise how much smoke and mirrors goes into an enviroment.
