Hello!
I have a compenent which is quite huge.
To test the reconstruction of a certain area of it, I proceed as follows:
-
Reconstruction->click “Preview”
-
Use lasso tool to select the area of interest, Click “Invert”, click “Filter selection”.
-
It creates a small compoent with 11 k tris. I select it.
-
I press “Reconstruction->Preview”.
-
It creates a preview of the big component again, not a preview of the 11 k tris. Even though the small component was selected…
Even if I delete the big compent, it still reconstructs the big component when I click “Preview”.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you!
Hi Patrick,
with Reconstruction/Preview you are still creating new model. There are three options for model creation: Preview, Normal and High. The parameters of these are in Reconstruction settings.
When you filtered your created model, then it is also a model, with press Preview, you are creating new model.
What is your aim here?
I have combined 2 photo sessions (for example photo session from Monday and photo session from Friday) into 1 project.
Why? After reconstruction the photo session of Monday, I see that I have missed some areas.
So I drive back and take new photos. Of course, things change a bit.
I put session 1 and session 2 into a single project and want to see if it still works or if I need to remove certain photos because things in some areas have changed (for example a stone is in a different position now or something like that).
The preview reconstruction of the combined sessions looks quite alright, but I want to inspect some areas in normal reconstruction mode so that I can see it in perfect detail.
Because my project is so huge, I filter only the small area that I want to inspect in normal mode.
So I select the small filtered component of 11 k tris and click “Normal”. It takes many days, so I think something is not right.
So I select the small filtered component of 11 k tris and click “Preview”.
It does not reconstruct a preview of the 11 k tris model, but instead if reconstructs a preview of the huge 4 mio tris mesh.
So I think RC does not allow me to reconstruct the small filtered mesh.
Am I correct?
The reconstruction space depends on the reconstruction region. If it is not changed and it is the same as in first reconstruction, then a whole captured area will be computed. To recreate just this filtered part, you need to also change the reconstruction region just to this small part.
