RC demo crashes during alignment with lots of control points

Hi all,

I’m running an alignment with 678 images, and RC keeps crashing during the alignment process.  It comes up with a dialog box saying as much (see below).  I’ve submitted the dump to RC.  This is a new installation of RC on a comp that has never had it before, so all the settings are defaults, etc.

I have a total of 104 control points, and given how many are seen in each image, I end up with a total list of around 25,000 individual point instances (around 40 points seen in each image on average).  When I run the alignment without the control points, it aligns successfully, but of course, not each image gets aligned, and I end up with a couple components.  That’s one point of all those control points.

Any thoughts about what might be going on?

hello, this seems to be too many control points placed for the software to handle

I had a similar case where it helped to activate some CPs first and then more after the first successful alignment…

You can also try to update RC as the latest version seems to be more stable
