RC crashing during Alignment

I’m getting this error message upon the crash during alignment:

RC-error.JPG

I’ve cleared cache, restarted RC, restarted PC, tried Alignment in new project without the issue, Merge components only = False, in fact I can delete all Components, just retain enabled imagery and CPs, same outcome. Resource Monitor shows happy Memory and CPU. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Benjy

Hi Benjamin von Cramon

try align smaller subset of images, and add images in groups. start with 10-50 images and add by say 25 %

check all images if they are not damaged ( can be just single one file ) with adobe Bridge or open every single file and inspect it…

I can do that. Thanks. I look forward to hopefully getting your comments on my discussion with Goetz about manual intervention. Thanks in advance, know you keep busy.

Benjy

I’ve found it can crash if your doing to many at once. or having too many control points.

mixing shoots from different days seemed to cause a bit of trouble if doing everything all at once.

if you do smaller components and add those together, using the control points to match components (and don’t add to many) you will get a lot further before issues.

Thanks for that. Yes, I’ve been exporting Registration/importing Components and bringing those together, seems more stable for sure. I did this with this project and got to the same point with some problem children photos that hadn’t solved into anything worth exporting, so wanted to produce a stable and clean model minus those problem pictures, then use CPs the pin them against good photos with good TPs. I was still getting the crashing. I then enabled them in smaller groups, which helped. Interesting. Sometimes unclear what defines such thresholds.
