Today I discovered with horror that my project on which I spent dozens of hours in RC 1.4 opens in RC1.5.1 but then after a while of working on it (unwran, texture reprojection etc.) it does not want to save anymore.
Message: Saving Project - File not Found.
What should I do?? Is there any way to temporarily revert to version 1.4?
I will lose many hours of work if I do not solve this
All files in the project are original. The problem appeared after the Reality Capture upgrade, I’m pretty sure about that
Hello @mpojalow
In general, this can happen when you will lose access to the file path of you cache, dataset folder or project folder.
Usually, this happens when your hard drive is disconnected during a large dataset calculation (it does not matter if your hard drive was reconnected in the meantime).
So, it shouldn’t be related to the used version.
Is it possible, that you moved the source data? Also, are you able to save the project right after opening it in 1.5.1 version?
In Epic Games Launcher, you can choose also the previous version:
I am 85% sure that I did not transfer this project, it has been on the same disk since X-2024
After opening the project in the new version RC 1.5.1, I can save it immediately after opening it as a save or save as. Unfortunately, after performing some action with the model (unwram, reproject texture, etc.), the possibility of saving ends - file not found.
To sum up, I can work with this project, do whatever I want, but I will not save it anymore. I tried the SHIFT + Run RC and run a clean installation. It did not help. It is frustrating for me
Unfortunately I thought that version 1.4.2 would fix the problem. Opening the project, unwrap and saving worked for now. Unfortunately, after performing texture reprojection the problem returned. It doesn’t save again.
I’m starting to lose my energy for this. So what? Now every time I go back to the old project it will always happen
I was right, RC 1.5.1 was causing the problem.
I uninstalled reality capture and reinstalled it, but version 1.4.2, which I was working in. I opened the project again, performed simplify operations on this model and saved it without a problem.
So, you should work on old projects in the old version of RC and make a new project in the new version from the beginning.
Hi, would it be possible to share your project and data with us to check, if this will also happen on our side? If so, I’ll send you the invitation for the data upload.
