We have a problem with new /last/ version of RC. Export don’t work - when pick the place for export and file name nothing hapen. this is conected to the mesh, the images and so on… this morning with previous version work perfectly - now we need to stop work for investigation
Same problem occurs with me after update as well. Not able to export and object in the new version. Importing a model or exporting Reconstruction Region works fine. Only dense mesh model and levels of detail don’t.
Hi VectorTwin and miliradeva, we are sorry for this.
Do you see some error when you are trying to export?
What are your export settings? How big model are your trying to export?
In my case one of the model is 1.3M (1344102) Triangle count, 672.1K Vertex count. 378 input images,
No error showing. Just the export settings window doesn’t pop up at all. I am choosing type of export (I tried several options obj, fbx, alembic…) and always after hitting the save button program continues to main window without doing anything about the export. I tried new scene from scratch, old scene, preview model light model, heavy model…and the result is nothing. I tried to reset settings and still nothing.
When you will downgrade the version back to 1.2.1.116300, is it possible to export the models?
I will be really happy if we have option to downgrade, but unfortunately we do not have old version to install…
You can download older versions of RealityCapture after signing in to your account at:
https://www.capturingreality.com/My#
The download link for the previous version is:

Thank you a lot ! I can’t say - it is a good or bad, but the 1.2.1.116300 work just fine with no change to setting at all - just uninstall the 1.2.2 and install the 1.2.1. The new “old” see the all setting and keep it.
Hi Jakub, also having the same issue with 1.2.2.
loaded a project i created using older version of RC.
all functions in RC work but the export. I can choose a path and a filename and as soon as i click save the window closes and nothing happens. Usually the export options window appears at this point but now it does not.
This is also an issue for us, this is a critical problem and needs bugfixing ASAP as some projects have been upgraded to version 1.2.2.116899 and cannot be opened in previous RC versions due to the lack of backwards/forwards compatibility.
We fix the problem by not so conventional way - we make a clean install Windows 11 on the same PC and all work perfect. I think that a clean install of windows will fix the problem… the upgrade of system from Windows 10 to Windows 11 do not fix the issue. For me that means - some deep registry records are a problem.
PS: We do not try Windows 10 clean install actually…
These are possible solutions for this issue:
You can start with the clean-install reset. Hold SHIFT on your keyboard and run RealityCapture. A reset window with a dropdown should show up. Choose “Make it like a clean install” in the dropdown, and click on the button Reset. After this, you will have to sign in again.
If this doesn’t help, the next step would be to remove anything RealityCapture related from the Windows Registry. I don’t have official information from our developers, but it could be that some older settings are stored there, that are affecting the export process. Removing everything related to RC should help your case.
The last resort is to re-install your OS, but hopefully, it won’t be needed.
HI everybody. May I ask, which was your previous version? Was it 116295 or 116300?
Thanks for your reply otrhan. A couple of our team were running RealityCapture version 1.2.1.116300, and we’ve experienced that export bug in the latest version.
Hi Alrawli101, can you add these information?
- Windows Version:
- CPU:
- GPU:
- RAM:
- Using VM?
- Is drive local, networked, SSD, External:
- Any other information that might be relevant:
Is this happening for you on more computers?

This bug is confirmed on my workstation (spec above) and another very similar spec workstation, running in the same way (no VM, local drives).
Thank you of sharing
I have the same issue with 1.2.2. I have an additional issue where I get error 7126 when I try to open the project in 12.1.
Dear Meat_Tree,
we are looking for the solution for the export bug. Can you give us more information about your PC? Have you tried mentioned solutions from previous posts?
Error 7126 mostly means that something is corrupted in your project. My first guess would be that the component mentioned in the error got corrupted during the saving process, or maybe something else altered it.
Do you maybe remember which components you were using, and is this one crucial for your project? If not, you can manually remove it. If you open your project (.rcproj file) as a text file, you can scroll down to the element ‘‘reconstructions’’. From there you can remove your component by selecting it and deleting it.
Please, do this on the copy of your project file.
Are you storing your project on a local drive? Did you maybe prematurely close RealityCapture while it was saving the project? Have you deleted some images from the source folder or cleared the CACHE? Where do you have selected the cache folder? How often is cache cleared?
