RBAN Cloth Cross Constraints

I watched the Gritty Reality of Real-Time Cloth talk from Unreal Fest 2022 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NkNBImONJU) and there’s a short section addressing RBAN cloth setups (e.g. capes). There’s a really brief mention of cross constraints between joint chains and I’ve been trying to find more information on this.

Are these the normal rigid body constraints just running across adjacent joint chains instead of down the joints in the chain? And are there any best practices for setting these up?
