The biggest Patchwork Audio related work during this sprint was finishing up the Patchwork based looper using a Sample Pack I had once published as a Sound Designer. I brought the loops into custom Fusion Patches. I solved the concerns I was having with panning my sounds by using multiple speaker devices. This also gave me the basics of a mixer for the game. I incorporated them into an overall looper design by placing and covering up parts of the patchwork devices with my own meshes.
The only thing that I still would like as a Patchwork option in order to call my looper and this island/map complete is to have the option for only one column for the Note Sequencer.
Next sprint I will be going into a deep dive into trying to build instruments on top of the Patchwork devices. I will be bringing in my own samples in Fusion Patches. I will also take a deeper dive in the synthesizer side of things. I have built analog synths in a couple of applications before so I will probably have a few questions and ideas about potential patchwork synth ideas as I had a pretty robust UE 5.4 analog synth built on top of my own metasounds framework I built. The kind of things I may want to do are pretty much Music Nerd related but they do make for interesting sound design experiments.
In any case, as I alluded to early in our conversations here is an end of Sprint video that shows the Patchwork tools in action in the current build of our island. Enjoy the music, the custom DJ lights and custom effects in the video. Patchwork is rockin!
