I just went to update Epic Launcher and my Trend Anti Virus blocked the execution after the download stating ransomware was stopped - delete or continue. chillware.tdm.png was one of the files it stated was infected - their were 3 files that were infected. I ended up deleting everything as I don’t need any infections. Is this a false positive showing up here? I could find nothing on the Trend Micro web site about this.

Thanks . Yes, I can install the launcher with the anti-virus off, but that does not mean I am not going to get the ransomware. I need assurance that the launcher does NOT contain anything that will encrypt my machine while installing the launcher. I downloaded the launcher again last night after uninstalling everything UT4, including the new map I was working on, went to install the launcher and it didn’t even unpack before installing and my anti-virus popped up with ransomware detected in the file. Now, I may be getting a false positive in my Trend Micro anti virus, and I have not been able to find anything about this on their site, but I was going to inquire of them to test the file if they could to verify it is clean, but I don’t know if they do that sort of thing. I need to know that file is clean. I don’t have another machine to test the install with to verify it is clean. I went through all of the help on http://help.epicgames.com/ , most of which was useless to me and found one article stating to install with the anti virus off - I already knew I could do that - but that does not make me feel any better that I may not get an infection. I hope you understand where I am coming from as far as getting any type of infection on my machine. Sad, as I just got a hub working for myself and a few friends to play, but they will not update the launcher after I got that message from my anti virus last night.
