Random Frame Drop

So ive been wanting to get back into unreal engine and soon as I did the frames would drop to absolute random numbers soon as I moved id go from 120 solid then it goes between 30 - 50 and will freak out and become super choppy ive tried starting new projects restarting computer uninstalled then reinstalled unreal engine and nothing works and this is with a blank fresh project so its nothing ive touched

I have a pretty high end computer and everything is updated so its not that and unreal worked fine before

Are you running an nVidia card?

Using the task manager to track your performance (GPU usage, CPU usage, etc) should help you begin tracking down what is happening when these frame drops occur. At the moment it is very hard to say what it could be without some investigation.

The problem is still there in 4.20 unfortunately, right now the only real option is to use 4.18 instead.

Keep an eye on that thread, we’re trying to get someone from Epic to comment on it so hopefully we will hear something soon.
