I am making my game and sometimes when I try right click on something to duplicate it for example UE freezes and I can’t do anything and the only way of making it work again is to close the application, which I can only do through task manager as no other way works. This happens when I run the game as a standalone, add something, change the colour of something.
Hi ElectricNic89,
- Does this occur in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
- What steps can I take to reproduce this error on my end?
- Can you post your dxdiag here so I can take a look?
Well this happens when I add in some content and start changing some things. And well to reproduce it I don’t really know as it happens randomly when i’m adding something or changing something in the details panels or blueprints.
It also usually happens if I open the game as a standalone.
Do you have any specific steps that consistently reproduce the error in question? Additionally, does this happen in a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?
Usually happens when I’m in a blueprint class making something in the viewport, like adding in a cube or box collision and then duplication. Whenever I right click on a component it usually crashes or then if I run it as a standalone but not launching it the and then I close the game to edit something it freezes. This doesn’t happen in a clean blank project and isn’t limited to one project. As long as there is something in the project and you are trying to edit it then it migh crash or freeze.
Try uninstalling and re-installing the editor. Additionally, can you post your crash logs here? They can be found at \Unreal Projects\PROJECTNAME\saved\logs.
