Quixel megascan issue: object doesn’t receive shadow

Dear group, I need a favor because I have an issue with the Quixel Megascans plugin in Unreal 5.3.1. I am using a PC with ray tracing enabled. When I import an object, the shadows are not being cast on that object.

I’ve tried installing and uninstalling the program and the plugins several times, but the problem persists.

Shadows are being cast on scene objects without any issues. It’s only on MEGASCAN objects that they don’t work

I conducted this test on a Mac M1, and the shadows work perfectly.

Did this ever happen to someone?

Do you know if there’s something I need to enable in the settings? Thank you.

I was having the same problem and finally figured it out. You need to change the material type for the object from Subsurface to “Default Lit”. All of the snow assets have the material default set to SSS.
